Newsletter October 2020
The Academy has managed to stay open and it's lovely to see the students being able to come into the studios and have their classes. We are very proud of all of our students as they have learnt so quickly how to socially distance and follow the procedures we have put in place to keep it safe for them.
The Saturday morning group D (9.15am start) will have their modern class increased to 45 minutes when they return after Christmas to allow us to have more time with them to cover the modern exam work and street jazz which will give them an opportunity to take their modern exams as well as disco medals in that class now.
The Christmas break will be from Monday 21st December to Monday 4th January returning on Tuesday 5th January.
Examinations are now running again very successfully so we have booked in 2 sessions for Sunday 17th January and Sunday February 14th.
Exam slips will be emailed to you and all fees should be paid separately from any other fees with reference exams and name of student please. Alternatively you can send cash in with the exam slip in an envelope.
Please note that students DO NOT have to take these exams and totally understand if you feel that this is something you do not want your child to do at the moment.
Exam prices can be found on our website on parent page.
Our show is booked for May 21/22 at Concordia Theatre. All show deposits have been carried over from last year but if you are a new student then these will need to be paid in January.
We have decided that we really do have to try to put a show on this time so if for any reason the theatre is not open we are going to look at recording all troupes at an alternative venue and put a professional show DVD together.
If anyone does not want their child to take part please let me know as we are spending time on show troupes ready for the stage or filming and we have quite a lot of costumes already cut out ready to make up at Chorus Line or stored at the studio.
We are hoping in the New year that we can bring back performing arts classes and our festival teams .
Thank you for your continued support to keep WMA open. It has been lovely to see them come into the studios smiling, working hard at their dancing and enjoying being back with their dance family.
